blue skies smiling
So here's a fun and procrastinating, let's not think about the fact that I still haven't filed my taxes, (or even filed the extension yet -- UGH), tax day post . . .
I've often thought that if I could only ever look at one thing for the rest of my life . . . I think I would pick the sky. You may have heard the famous quote by Vincent Van Gogh, "Looking at the stars always makes me dream." Well, I kinda feel the same!
Whether it's filled with twinkly stars or is a deep, solid blue (or pours rain, as my friends know is a favorite), the sky and all that is in it, just makes me dream. It often catches me off guard with its magnificence, and I could, and do many times, just stop and gaze, in thankful wonder.
. . . It's just so ever-stretching, awe-inspiring, BEE-U-ti-full!! :)
I mean, really . . . how cool are these puffy little, sky-dotting clouds?!? :)
It's really one of my MOST favorite things about creation. And I don't think it would ever be boring to look at, because while it's always the same in the fact that it's always sky and always will be, it's wonderfully unique in that it's always shifting in colors and textures, all over the planet . . . !
on Mobile Bay
It's dreamy and surprising . . .
pink and purple skies after a snow in Birmingham
powerful and enveloping . . .
waiting for a storm to pass while at Orange Beach
and sometimes a little nerve-wracking as those storms roll in ;)
my silliness, reacting to the ominous big storm coming in right behind me :)
It's bright and happy . . .
sun shining on my alma mater, U of Mobile!
restful and calm . . .
Ahhh . . . deep breath
hopeful and promising as a morning breaks . . .
Leaving church early one morning
So it would seem, the sky is kind of like the various seasons and times of our lives, huh? It's kinda cool to me, how the sky reflects its Creator and the created. Looking to the sky not only makes me dream -- it makes me feel connected too.
Hmmm . . . so neat. I'm so thankful to be a part of this living.
“The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. ”
